French Butter Dish – A French Butter Dish is an age old technique of keeping butter fresh at room temperature. A French Butter Dish comes in two pieces with one to two holes on the side of the top piece. Simply pack room temperature softened butter in the top piece. Place approximately 1 ½ inches of water in the bottom piece with about a tsp of salt. When you place the top and bottom pieces together this will create a seal that will keep the butter fresh. For design aesthetics each piece is unique with a swirl technique on the top. Medium fired stoneware with food safe glaze suitable for dishwasher, microwave, and oven. Dimensions may vary slightly. Each handmade piece is unique and finished with my initials and the year made on the bottom. Approximately 5"W x 2"H.
